Thursday Thinking #15

This is a weekly series that I hope you will take part in. Basically, I will ask a question, you answer. Easy-peasy. ;) Sometimes the questions will be very simple and easy to answer in one word. Other times they may be more controversial and require a bit thought on your part.

Ready?

Who is your hero? Why?

My hero is my Grandma Kitty (my dads mom). She has faced and overcome so many hardships. Through it all, the one thing that always shone through, was her love of her family. To put it simply, if someone were to tell me, “You remind me of Grandma Kitty.”, that would probably be the highest compliment I ever received.

  1. MY HERO IS MY HUSBAND MARSHALL. HE WAKES UP EVERY MORNING WITH THE CONFIDENCE AND MOTIVATION TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING OUR GOVERNMENT BY PROTECTING THIS COUNTRY. ALTHOUGH ITS NOT EVERYONES DREAM JOB HE IS PROUD AND EVEN HAPPIER TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY WHILE PROTECTING PEOPLE WHO AREN’T ALWAYS APPRECIATIVE. HE NEVER COMPLAINS… HE NEVER THINKS “I CAN’T”…. HE ALWAYS LOVES AND GIVES SECOND CHANCES… HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY HERO!

  2. My mom. She was the strongest person I will ever get the chance to meet. She was so brave and even up until the weekend she died, she stayed strong. I miss her dearly but try to live up to what my mom wanted me to be….the best person I can be.

  3. Think I’d have to go with my hubby, as well. He’s just my go-to for everything. When I’ve had a bad day, he lets me vent without judging. And he makes me laugh :)

  4. My hero, at least this week, is my 12 year old son. His dad more or less abandoned him twice by the age of 8, he is extremely bright but also has ADHD, has overcome ODD, and survived two of my deployments plus two additional years of living with my parents while I got some additional professional training that involved a great deal of shift work, being moved to my parents’ house after 9/11, and is helping prep my 3 year old for my impending mobilization as a reservist.

He is a pro at being a Navy brat in a single parent household and an outstanding older brother!!!!

  5. My mom is my hero. She raised three kids, and did it well, while dealing with 6 years of surgeries and sickness with my dad. My mom is amazing. Also, she is always a lady; always.
