Thursday Tirade

(I know, I know….It is supposed to be Thursday Thinking)

(But I’m riled up.)

(When I get riled up, it’s better for me to come here and vent instead of eating Cheetos.)

(Mmmmmmm……Cheetos……)

Morning Rant:

While trying to subscribe Faith to a monthly craft service, I had to lie about her birthdate in order to have the developmentally appropriate items sent.

How about instead of relying strictly on birthdate, allow parents to choose the level?

I feel like I’m denying Faith all the amazing progress she HAS made when I have to lie and say she is only 4 in order to have the proper items sent.

Rant Over.

That is SUCH a great Idea! My son has learning disabilities and was lucky the school district gave tests to him to see what reading level he was and then they taught him at that level. He ended up dropping out of special education because it wasn’t worth the 23 minutes he was given each week. He now has a job at Peninsula Services (employment opportunities and work training to adults with disabilities). He has been there going on 4 years and this year he was nominated for a NISH award. NISH(is one of two national, nonprofit agencies designated by the Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled) He will be traveling to Indianapolis on May 19th for the NISH award ceremony on May 24th. I hear this is like the Academy Awards but for disabled people. I wonder if I can find a suit and Tie. LOL (and a Limo)
