Thursday Thinking #13

This is a weekly series that I hope you will take part in. Basically, I will ask a question, you answer. Easy-peasy. ;) Sometimes the questions will be very simple and easy to answer in one word. Other times they may be more controversial and require a bit thought on your part.

Ready?

Are you superstitious?

I am. I worry that bad things come in threes. I knock on wood (or wood-like-products) when I say something that is too good. I’m also afraid to use my children’s health as an excuse to not do something for fear it will happen.

Oh yes! I knock on wood, throw salt over shoulder if im cooking, and very careful when hanging mirrors. Don’t think it helps all the time, but enough to keep me doing it.

I have some superstitions…karma always comes back to bite you. I think death comes in 3s and a baby born can offset it. I have a few others but I can’t think of then currently lol

Most definitely have some – like working in ED on Friday 13th with a full moon – I’d rather not.
Never ever on call say (or let the intern say) ‘It sure is quiet’ (talk about bad karma – shortly there after will have more admissions than you know what to do with.

I’m superstitious about knives. If you hand it to me open, I hand it back open. Also, don’t tattoo names on your body, it kills the relationship.

I karma-cap everything!!! It has the same effect as knocking on wood, but there doesn’t have to be any wood around. so you are protected from bad karma wherever you go.

I also refuse to write down any big events like anniversaries or boyfriend’s birthdays in my planner/calendar until the week of. doing so beforehand ensures that you will breakup before hand and have to stare at that for the rest of the time as a horrific reminder.

I also don’t say things about how things will break or a “with our luck” this thing will happen. because then it will.
